Huawei Mate 20 Pro's first update adds more camera features, October security patches
Huawei's latest flagship smartphone, the Mate 20 Pro, is already getting an update. The first new software rollout for the device since it's been released a few days ago weighs in at 491MB and is currently available in both the UK and South Africa. It should make its way to more countries in the coming days.
Once you install it, you'll be running EMUI 9.0.0.126. The update brings with it the October security patches, which are technically still current since Google hasn't released the ones for November yet. Then again, OnePlus is already updating the phones it launched this year to the November security level.

Back to the Mate 20 Pro: the update also comes with new filters and effects for the camera, including AI color, background blur, and vintage for videos while shooting. The AI zoom feature that's built-in lets you adjust the focus for better clarity.
If you haven't yet received the update notification on your Mate 20 Pro, you could head over to Settings > System > System update and force a manual check. Who knows, you might get lucky. Otherwise, it's a waiting game you need to play, but hopefully not longer than a few days.
